CODOFIL student teaching program.
COLLEGE: Louisiana State University 1972-1976 Received B.A. in Foreign Languages with a minor in Art. Was on Dean's List through Junior Year. Received invitations to join Alpha Lambda Delta and the Mortar Board. Returned for extensive courses in Education in 1986 and received a Teacher Certificate. Then returned and received Master's Degree in Library and Information Science in 1998.
Received CODOFIL, (Counsel for the Development of French in Louisiana) scholarship and
attended the Université Catholique de l'Ouest in Angers, France for extensive language courses in 1975
Languages
Fluent in English, Spanish, French and Italian. Understand and read Portuguese and some German
Television and Multimedia
Translated into Spanish and narrated the Spanish version of the LPB award winning probram SITUATION: DISASTER, a series of half-hour programs which detail how to protect yourself, your family and property before, during and after a natural catastrophe. The show was hosted by Erik Estrada.
Member of the Louisiana Curriculum Committee who, in conjunction with the National Advisory Board, wrote the series The ABC's of French and Spanish , an Emmy-Winning television series created by Louisiana Public Broadcasting for the instruction of French and Spanish for grades 4 thru 8. Also co-host and narrator of the Spanish version of the series.
Guest speaker in LPB's Teletech: Harnessing the Power a teleconference filmed in May 1995 to explore the many ways of bringing multimedia into the foreign language classroom.
Creator of Seul a Paris-Une Aventure a CD-ROM multimedia educational game that simulates a trip to Paris where the student has to book a flight, find a hotel room, change money, find his way from the airport to his hotel in Paris and then follow the clues he is given to find the rest of his group.
