My name is Alicia Vidaurreta and I was born in the Vedado district of Havana, Cuba on Wednesday, December 15 1954 at 2:20 AM. Thirty four years earlier my late father had been born on the same day of the month, the same day of the week and at the same time. That's why people say we were so much alike!
On Good Friday, the 8th of April 1966 I came to the United States. We stayed in Miami about 2 months and then came to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where my dad had been offered a position as Professor of Analitical Chemistry at Louisiana State University.
Since I came from Cuba, I have always lived in Baton Rouge, LA---except for the years that I worked for Pan Am and National when I lived in exciting cities like New Orleans, New York, Houston and Washington D.C.
I love to travel and see the world but I always come home to Cajun Country where the food and the people are spicier and more fun!
